About myself

I trained at the the Constructive Teaching Centre in Holland Park, London, completing the three year, full time Alexander Technique training course in 2000. I am a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (MSTAT) and served for many years on its governing council, including a term as Chair. I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and am a member of the Backcare charity. I am also a Fellow of the College of Teachers.
Since my training I have been working with private pupils; taught for three terms at the Constructive Teaching Centre and at a halfway house for a charity, the Philadelphia Association. I hold workshops for companies and organisations like VSO, Southwark Council, Accenture and Chanel.
At present I teach privately in Harley Street, in Clapham South and near Old Street at the Alexander Technique Centre. At Old Street I am also the Assistant Head of the City Alexander Technique School (CityATS) – a school for training Alexander teachers.
I teach introductory classes in the Alexander Technique at the City Lit (details), an adult learning centre in Holborn, and also regular classes in T’ai Chi for South Thames College in South London (details).
Though I worked in the printing industry for twenty years before my Alexander training I originally qualified as an aeronautical engineer. So I understand the pressures and demands of both academic and commercial life and the impact that stress has on the body.
